One lane of the Dukes Highway was closed on Friday following a truck rollover.
Just after 12.20am on January 5 emergency services were called to the Dukes Highway near Culburra after reports two trucks had side swiped each other, resulting in one of the B-Double carrying livestock rolling onto its side. The driver of the truck received minor injuries.
The second truck stopped a short distance away and spoke to police. The driver of that truck was uninjured.
One lane of the highway was closed, however vehicles were able to safely able to pass at a reduced speed under direction of traffic controllers. Motorists driving through the area needed to be aware a number of sheep escaped from the trailer and were not contained, allowing them to roam near the highway’s edge.
The highway was closed between Coonalpyn and Tintinara whilst heavy machinery being brought from Adelaide was used to tow the truck from the area. Diversions were in place during this time.
