School holiday fun goes full throttle

Afun collection of activities for school aged children has been planned across the Wattle Range Council area again this summer.

The council has announced the summer ‘Full Throttle in Wattle’ school holiday program which will include the reinvigoration of ‘Coastal Connections’.

Council’s Libraries and Cultural Services manager Janice Nitschke said the exciting schedule of activities would be delivered to school aged children across Wattle Range.

“The holiday fun will commence on Saturday, December 17, when we launch the Summer Reading Club program at the Millicent Library with a range of Christmas craft activities,” she said.

“During the pre-Christmas week the team at the library have planned a collection of Christmas crafting projects, as well as the ever popular Green Screen, VRs, Nintendo Switch and XBox games.

“During January, they will have Science Fun on Wednesdays along with the suite of innovative technology for all, including augmented reality.

“Outside of the library, other ‘Full Throttle’ activities include tie dying, Come and Try Golf, kite making, leather and beeswax workshops and more.

“The final event will be at the Millicent Swimming Lake, featuring the inflatable obstacle course, live music and games on Wednesday, January 25.

“Following repeated requests from the community, Wattle Range Council is thrilled to support the return of the former Coastal Connection Program, with Rockpool Rambles and sessions on Indigenous culture, creatures of the night walk, estuary discovery and shorebirds.”

Bookings for activities are essential, and can be made via Eventbrite or 8733 0903 for library activities.
