School’s out for seniors

Penola High School Year 12 students celebrated their final day of schooling in style.

The day kicked off with a breakfast feast at McCorquindale Park, supervised by the school’s masterchef Mike Henschke.

Students and teachers were treated to sausages, eggs, bacon, mushrooms and tomato with a choice of juice or iced coffee.

All then returned to school to welcome the rest of the student cohort into their muck up day mayhem.

After a quick clean up, Year 12 students arrived back smartly dressed in their school uniform for their final assembly, which was run by Year 11 students Arlie Shadbolt, Henry Williams, Cameon Braendler and Toby Zerk.

Mr Henschke delivered a farewell speech and he reflected on the students’ time at Penola High School and the varied opportunities that lie ahead of them.

Principal Steve Carli-Seebohm wished all students well on their future journeys.

Olivia Berkin and Lochy Neale read a final report as the 2023 SRC leaders, followed by Mason Moulton and Emly Koenig, who echoed their class time while at the school.

A slide show was prepared which depicted student’s photos from the time they were in Year 8 until now.

Year 12 students also addressed their IT skills, preparing a video, reflecting on activities over time at school.

Mr Henschke then conducted a final roll call, with students being presented with certificates of completion and cards.
