Shooters enjoy perfect conditions

The South East Field and Game Association held its September shoot in near perfect conditions at Burrungule Park recently.

A field of 93 competitors nominated for the 75-target with cross-border community members welcomed back, which created a healthy atmosphere.

Jeremy Kent again took out the High Gun trophy 74/75 despite being pushed hard by Gavin Dyson, who recorded the same score, but lost the shoot off.

With Dyson forced to settle for first place in AA Grade, Danny Bellinger and Mick Banning finished second and third respectively with the latter scoring his first 25 possible badge at the venue.

Heath Telford took out A Grade from Dane Hastings and Brenton Ferguson, while Greg Kessegian won B Grade with a creditable 67/75 from Romain Devaud and Darren Murrell.

C Grade went to Dwayne Bell 55/75 from Michael Smith, who edged ahead of newcomer Max Beighton.

Neville Kent 71/75 rolled back the years to defeat Chris Wright and Graham Lamond in the Seniors category, while veterans Wayne Gurney and Gary Dangerfield were too good for Peter Klieve.

Tasha Bellinger dominated the women’s category with 67/75, while Ben Hastings and Declan Wright respectively won juniors and sub juniors.

Lake Bonney Sporting Clays once again took bragging rights in the inter club challenge with a narrow four target aggregate victory over the Burrungule Park shooters.

A 75-target event will take place at Lake Bonney Sporting Clays this Sunday.
