Shops seek trade approval

Millicent’s two remaining regulated shops are seeking special permission from the new Labor State Government to open their doors on Easter Saturday (April 16).

The application for an exemption has been submitted by the Millicent Business Community Association and will be considered by new Industrial Relations Minister Kyam Maher.

Easter Saturday is a designated public holiday, so an exemption must always be obtained.

Millicent has a Proclaimed Shopping District and Woolworths and Foster’s Foodland are regulated shops under the Act.

They will be shut on the three other days of the Easter holiday long weekend.
