Mobile phone and internet connections are being disrupted across Millicent this week as the antennae on the SA Water concrete water tower are being temporarily turned off.
A Telstra spokesperson said SA Water was repainting the water tower.
The spokesperson said the work was scheduled to conclude on Friday.
“There are three sectors on this site, and we will be turning them off at different times so that we can minimise the impact to our customers,” the spokesperson said.
“We apologise for the inconvenience.”
Other telecommunications companies also have transmission equipment positioned on the concrete water tower.
The tank’s walls, roof and internal and external pipework were refurbished by contractors earlier this year at a cost of $300,000.
