Suspected hit and run
 investigated

Police are investigating a suspected hit-run crash in Millicent on Saturday evening.

Emergency services were called to Ridge Terrace about 11.30pm after reports of cars revving in the street, then a second call about a man collapsed in bushes beside the road.

When police arrived they found a 56-year-old local man with serious leg and hip injuries.

He was taken to the Mount Gambier Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries before being flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

A short time later police located a white Holden sedan with crash damage on Adelaide Road and spoke to a 23-year-old man who was with the car. He was taken to hospital to undergo a blood test.

The man has been charged with a number of traffic offences and bailed to appear in the Millicent Magistrates Court on December 15.

Police are conducting further investigations into the incident and are asking anyone with further information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestopperssa.com.au to report online.
