Teacher promoted to shared position

Senior teacher Amy Oswald has been promoted and will share the principal’s role with Annie Matthews at Kangaroo Inn Area School in 2024.

Ms Matthews spent two decades working in the Child Parent Centre and has been the school principal for the past eight years.

Her husband Malcolm is an old scholar of KIAS along with their three children.

She will mentor Ms Oswald in the key role.

Formerly Amy Williams, she is married to local veterinarian Dr David Oswald.

She is currently on maternity leave as she gave birth to twin daughters earlier this year.

Back in 2016, Ms Oswald won recognition in the primary teaching category for the Public Service Excellence in Teaching Awards.
