A GRADE – WEST GAMBIER V NORTH GAMBIER

West Gambier and North Gambier faced off last weekend and it was the Roos by 10 goals.

Sarah Ritter looms large for the Roos after her stunning shooting display which dominates the planning of North coach Karen Gould.

While that match up will belong to Maddie Whaites, she will be looking for her team mates to place pressure on the feed out the front and that will be the same at the other end, where West keeper Jade Ritter will try and deny star Tigers shooter Caroline Davey too much supply but will want plenty of pressure on the feed.

In what looms as one of the most hotly contested A Grade finals series in years, this will be a goal for goal arm wrestle.

A RESERVE – EAST GAMBIER V WEST GAMBIER

East Gambier and West Gambier are facing off in the A Reserve first semi final with plenty of talent on show as they both battle to live on in the 2021 season.

East has the upper hand in all three contests this season and their experienced line-up will be looking to push into a preliminary final.

West has a versatile and talented line-up but the experience of the Bulldogs will see them make it four from your in 2021.

B GRADE – CASTERTON SANDFORD V NORTH GAMBIER

The B Grade final rests mainly on the two State Governments but if Casterton Sandford can hit the court on Sunday they will start overwhelming favourite over North Gambier.

The Cats have plenty of quality winning all three clashes this year and are the reigning premiers.

C GRADE – EAST GAMBIER V SOUTH GAMBIER

East Gambier has hit form at the right time of the season including defeating the previously undefeated Millicent at the weekend.

The Bulldogs will face off against South Gambier this Sunday as both sides look to extend their season by at least one week.

East has experience and quality in every areas of the court and should advance to the preliminary final.

17 & UNDER – WEST GAMBIER V NORTH
GAMBIER

North Gambier have improved dramatically over the course of the season, but it is difficult to mount a case for the Tigers to upset third ranked West Gambier.

Alysha Coon, Alice Tentye and Lauran Norman are all strong performers for North but these two sides met only last weekend and the Roos secured a 19 goal victory.

15 & UNDER A – WEST GAMBIER V EAST GAMBIER

It will be a tense 15 & Under A first semi final when West Gambier takes on East Gambier with the Bulldogs having won all three clashes but with single digit margins.

The Roos are coached by Amy Cram and she has a history of getting sides up for finals and she has some talent at her disposal led by the hard running Leila Croker.

East also boasts plenty of talent with tight checking defence from Tonique Burford and previous success will give them confidence to earn a preliminary final place.

15 & UNDER B – MILLICENT V WEST GAMBIER

The 15 & Under B knockout semi final will be another tight clash despite Millicent defeating West on every occasion in 2021.

The season is on the line and the Saints should stay alive with a narrow win.

13 & UNDER A – SOUTH GAMBIER V WEST GAMBIER

The 13 & Under A clash between South Gambier and West Gambier will be one of the matches of the day at Mclaughlin Park.

South has won all three matches this season but with margins of seven, three and three, this is a clash that can go either way.

Both sides have Western Border representative players in their line up which makes this one of the toughest games to call.

13 & UNDER B – WEST GAMBIER V CASTERTON SANDFORD

West Gambier and Casterton Sandford have played twice this year in the 13 & under B competition and both times the Roos were victorious.

It was comfortable in the first round with a 12 goal margin but was only one goal a couple of weeks ago and if the young Cats can cross the border to take to the court, it looms as a nail biter.
