Teen thrown from car in crash

Limestone Coast Police have urged the community to be safe and responsible on the region’s roads following several traffic incidents in recent days involving local road users.

About 2.30am last Wednesday a 17-year-old Naracoorte boy was allegedly hoon driving on Langkoop Road, Koppamurra with three passengers in the vehicle.

The car crashed into several roadside trees before rolling.

A 16-year-old boy was ejected from the vehicle and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other male passengers, aged 16 and 18, along with the young driver, were uninjured.

The driver was reported for multiple driving charges, including misuse of a motor vehicle, drive without due car and driving unregistered and uninsured, and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

About 3.40am the same day a 42-year-old Mount Gambier man was detected driving on Sturt Street while unlicensed.

He was reported and will attend court at a later date.

Just after 2pm on Wednesday a 44-year-old Mount Gambier woman was detected by police driving on Blamey Street, Mount Gambier, while disqualified.

Investigations are continuing.

About 10.30pm on Wednesday a 36-year-old Millicent woman was stopped on Tantanoola Access Road, Tantanoola, due to the roadworthiness of her vehicle.

She recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.113 and was issued with a six month loss of licence.

She will face court at a later date.

About 10.45pm on Wednesday, a 20-year-old Mount Gambier man suffered minor injuries when he fell from his motorcycle on Jubilee Highway West.

He was taken to the Mount Gambier Hospital for treatment.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing.

About 9am on Thursday Millicent Police were notified of a single vehicle rollover that had occurred about 7am that morning on Mount Burr Road, Millicent.

It is believed the 22-year-old Millicent man experienced a micro-sleep while travelling home from nightshift.

Fortunately, the driver was not injured.

Investigations are continuing.

About 7.30am the same day a 38-year-old Mount Gambier man was detected in breach of his driver disqualification prohibiting him from occupying the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle.

He was reported and will appear in court at a later date.

About 1pm on Thursday, Kingston Police attended a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Toops Road and Princes Highway, Kingston.

Neither driver was injured and investigations into the crash are continuing.
