Tenison Woods College proudly hosted the highly anticipated 79th Annual South East Interschool Athletics Carnival held at Marist Park last week.

The event, renowned for showcasing outstanding athletic talent across the region, lived up to its reputation with a day filled with exceptional performances, memorable moments and records broken.

Athletes from various schools across the South East region converged at Marist Park, ready to display their skill and sportsmanship.

The atmosphere was electric as students, staff members and spectators alike eagerly watched on at the thrilling display of athleticism and camaraderie shown throughout the day.

Despite fierce competition from talented athletes representing Bordertown High School, St Martin’s Lutheran College, Mount Gambier High School, Millicent High School, Penola High School and Naracoorte High School, it was the outstanding performances across various disciplines and age groups that saw the Tenison Woods College team proudly named champions at the 2024 South East Interschool Athletics
Carnival.

Tenison Woods College Principal David Mezinec expressed pride in the college’s athletes.

“Hosting and winning this year’s Interschool Athletics Carnival is a testament to the dedication and talent of our students and staff,” he said.

“We are immensely proud of their achievements and the spirit they displayed throughout the day.”

Mr Mezinec said the success of the carnival would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the college’s HPE Team, athletes, student volunteers, assisting staff and all participating schools who ensured the smooth running of the event.

“Their efforts contributed to creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for all involved,” he said.

“The 2024 South East Interschool Athletics Carnival not only celebrated athleticism but also fostered a sense of community and sportsmanship between schools.

“It was a day full of triumphs, teamwork, and unforgettable moments that will be cherished by all who attended.”
