Aman has been issued a hefty fine for speeding near Bordertown over the weekend.
At about 11.30pm on Saturday, police were travelling on Dukes Highway at Cannawigara, when they saw a vehicle being driven erratically and at high speeds.
Patrols stopped the Subaru Impreza shortly after and spoke to the driver, a 20-year-old man from Victoria.
A check on the driver revealed he was the holder of a probationary driver’s licence.
He was issued a fine totalling $2832 for excessive speed, failing to display ‘P’ plates and breaching his probationary licence conditions.
He also accrued 9 demerit points and was also issued with a six month immediate loss of licence.
Meanwhile, a disqualified driver will face court after being detected drink driving on Monday at Naracoorte.
Just before 2pm, highway patrols stopped a Holden sedan on Stewart Terrace and breath-tested the driver.
He returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.249.
Further enquiries revealed the man was currently disqualified.
The 38-year-old local man was reported for drink driving and drive disqualified and will be summonsed to appear in court at a date to be set.
The driver was also issued with an additional 12 month immediate loss of licence and his car was impounded.
