Tough weekend for city bowlers

Saturday’s round 7 of Lower South East Bowls Association Open saw the Division 1 Blues host Naracoorte at the Bob Cranwell Centre with the visitors enjoying the conditions under the roof returning home with the points.

The final result was 61-47 with close games on the three rinks giving the visitors 12 points.

The round 8 home clash with Penola looms as an important game for the Blues as they chase a finals spot.

The Division 1 Reds travelled to Robe and found the home team in good form.

The locals mastered the conditions and their opponents to win two rinks for a 79-56 win.

The Reds held their second spot on the ladder and will look to rebound in the round 8 clash with Port MacDonnell.

The Division 2 team also travelled to Robe where they had more success than their clubmates, winning two rinks securing 10 points with a 81-67 victory.

The 10 points cemented a top two spot with a round 8 game against Naracoorte to look forward to.

The Division 3 South Reds hosted Beachport and despite winning two rinks suffered a narrow 70-67 loss.

They now look forward to the round 8 clash with Millicent Blue to get their season back on track.

The Blues in Division 3 South travelled to take on Port MacDonnell Blue.

The visitors fought hard but suffered a 60-45 defeat.

The Blues travelled home without any points but will now look to the round 8 match up with Penola to improve their ladder position.
