Trains return in model form

Millicent is set to become the permanent base for members of the Limestone Coast Model Railway Group.

Until now, members have displayed their train sets in their own homes.

They have reached an agreement to use some space at the Millicent Men’s Shed in Fifth Street.

In a touch of irony, the premises are located near a disused rail line which last carried freight trains around 30 years ago.

Men’s Shed president Tony Glowacki said it was proposed an extension to the premises would free up space for the train enthusiasts.

He said the extension was dependent on grant funding.
