UK driver killed in car crash

Awoman has died in hospital following a car crash on the Princes Highway on Sunday afternoon.


Police believe a white station wagon was travelling at Winnap, near Dartmoor, when the female driver lost control and crashed into a tree at about 3.20pm.


The 20-year-old United Kingdom national driver sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to hospital, where she later died.


Her back seat passenger, a 26-year-old United Kingdom national man, sustained serious injuries and was also airlifted to hospital for treatment.


The front seat passenger was a 26-year-old United Kingdom national man.


He sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.


The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.


Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
