Walkers step out for good cause

Mount Gambier started the Halloween weekend with ghosts and ghouls galore in celebration of the annual Zombie Walk which raised more than $500 for Foodbank.

Event organiser Kylie Bamford said the event included three raffles and prizes for best dressed in each category: boy, girl, female, male and group.

“We are growing every year and I think this event has helped Halloween celebrations grow in this town,” she said.

“There were a lot of new attendees who came along which I love because it can become a family tradition for them.

“I also enjoyed seeing people who had been there since the first Zombie Walk or have been attending for years.

“A lot of cities around Australia could not hold their own Zombie Walks unfortunately so we are proud to be able to do it for everyone else.”

Miss Bamford said she would like to thank Metro Bakery and Café, Red Ivie Hairdressing and Gaming Nexus for their continued support of the event.

“I would like to thank everyone who came along and supported this year’s Zombie Walk,” she said.

“Next year, hopefully things will be a bit different, but we are definitely looking forward to it.”
