The Lower South East Hockey Association hosted more than 60 young players for a long weekend carnival.
Youngsters from Mount Gambier, Naracoorte, Tatiara and the Riverland took part in an Under 15s carnival on Saturday.
Teams were made up of a combination of players from different regions, playing off in a round robin style tournament with a grand final for the top two girls and boys sides at the end of the day.
The ultimate aim of the day for the participants is selection in the South Eastern Eagles side to take part in the zone carnival up in Adelaide in October.
It is all a part of HockeySA’s new pathways program, which aims to feed junior players from all over SA into the state selection camps to trial with the best hockey players in their age group with the best coaches in the state.
