About 8.45pm on December 31, police and emergency services were called to the sand dunes near Lake George Road, after reports that an 18-year-old Victorian man had been hit by a utility.

The grey Toyota two-door ute did not have any registration plates and drove away from the area.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of leg injuries.
