A cavalcade of motorcycles and vehicles completed a cross-region tour as part of this year’s successful Limestone Coast Toy Run on Saturday.
The convoy of 66 bikes and four cars travelled through Naracoorte, Penola and Millicent, collecting gifts for children in need this festive season.
The main run converged at Endeavour Mount Gambier before continuing together to ac.care.
The generous donations were handed over to ac.care who will then distribute the toys in time to bring joy on Christmas morning to many children across the region.
These donations will be a significant contributor to ac.care’s annual Christmas Cheer support program.
The Mount Gambier and District Motorcycle Riders group stepped up to keep this year’s event on the road.
Group President John Bonney thanked all for helping put smiles on kids’ faces this Christmas.
“Thanks to our police for helping even if they did change our route a little bit from what we were intending, but we got there,” he said.
“Also to our Limestone Coast Easyriders SMC members leading the groups.
“It was very short time to organise it and well we now have 12 months to sort the next one out.
With only six weeks’ notice to plan and organise a ‘back to basics’ event, which saw the show ‘n shine omitted from the program, this year’s organisers are promising a bigger and better event next year.”
