Hatherleigh artist Selena Smith unveiled her stunning latest exhibition at the Millicent Gallery recently.
Dubbed the Imaginarium Re-A-Ranged Flower Garden, the late afternoon event attracted a gathering of 150.
The timing was to allow attendees to visit the Millicent MET Gala event at 7pm next door at the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre.
Speeches of welcome were made by Millicent Gallery manager Janice Nitschke and Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll.
Imaginarium Re-A-Ranged Flower Garden was then officially opened by Jody McKechnie who is a local artist and upcycler. She has recently gained fame for sewing 10,000 cloth shopping bags.
In promoting her exhibition, Selena said she gathered local community and friends to assist in creating a space to immerse yourself in.
“‘It is space created from recycled discard and transformed into a garden of fun,” Selena said.
“This installation is more than flowers.
“It is bugs and butterflies and bees which are all curated and crafted from discarded domestic waste.”
She was grateful to the band of helpers who erected the garden.
Her display runs until June 22 and is in conjunction with the Re-A-Range community weekend events staged by Wattle Range Council.
