The tenth annual Millicent Business Community Association awards ceremony has been postponed.
MBCA chairman Lee Morgan explained the decision in a message sent yesterday to The SE Voice and other MBCA members.
“After careful consideration of the current COVID requirements including masks, no music, no dancing and density requirements and capacity limits of 170 people, the MBCA committee has decided to postpone the MBCA awards ceremony until October 30,” Mr Morgan said.
“Given the high number of nominations (230) and interest – it would be extremely difficult to host the awards in the format that we are used to, and we want businesses and staff to kick up their heels at an event.
“Not-withstanding a lockdown, or other drastic distancing measures we will be having an awards ceremony on that day – and we will work on a contingency event.”
