Canteen manager stands kitchen heat

The considerable catering skills of long-serving Millicent High School canteen manager Jay Watson are in great demand at this time of the year.

For over 20 years, she has worked with other school personnel to stage the annual Year 12 graduation function at the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre.

The members of the MHS class of 2023 spent their last day of school on November 2 with a barbecue breakfast, formal assembly and morning tea, followed by the MHS Amazing Race, supplied lunch and activities and finally finishing the day with a slip and slide,

Ms Watson has spent three days in fourth term in the commercial kitchen of the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre.

Together with parents and students of Newbery Park Primary School, she served the lunches which marked the opening and closing ceremonies of Seniors Month.
