Carols return music to coffee lovers’ ears

Carols return music to coffee lovers’ ears

There has been a change of venue for a popular pre-Christmas event in Millicent on Sunday (November 27).

“Coffee, Cake and Carols” is the theme for a 2.30pm concert at the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre.

It will mark the return of carol singing by the Millicent Choral Society after two years of no carols due to COVID.

The guest artists will be the Newbery Park Primary School Choir.

As well as a sumptuous afternoon tea and learning about different Christmas traditions, there will be audience participation carol singing.

The Millicent Choral Society presentation ranges from the traditional to a variety of carols from different origins.

A selection of carols that come from Australia, Africa, Wales, Jamaica, a Spiritual and a Calypso style carol will make up the program.

The concert is supporting the Wattle Range Mayoral Community Christmas Appeal and the singers are looking forward to the return of Christmas music making.

The recent Geltwood Festival Market Day in Millicent presented an opportunity for the choir to perform.

The audience enjoyed a range of popular songs by the group which performed in the alcove alongside the Millicent courthouse.
