City store celebrates milestone

Mount Gambier’s Bare Necessities Lingerie has wrapped up their milestone of 10 years in business celebrations.

Throughout the week-long celebrations customers enjoyed 20% off store-wide and daily giveaways along with cakes and biscuits.

Bare Necessities Lingerie owner Sharon Tuffnell said the celebrations were a huge success and the store was very busy.

“It was lovely to celebrate, it was a big week,” she said.

“We had lots of ladies and gentlemen dropping in to congratulate us, do some shopping, grab some bargains.

“Some were just browsing and passing on their congratulations, sometimes it was just our regulars that perhaps did not particularly need something but they wanted to just let us know they were celebrating with us and thanking us for being a local business.

“It was really nice, it was busy, but it was a lovely busy, it was nice to have that vibe in the store.”

Ms Tuffnell said the 20% off storewide was very well-received by shoppers, with many taking the opportunity to stock up while the sale was on.

“We had an increased flow of people into the store so there were increased sales which was lovely and people really definitely made the most of the 20% offer that we had,” she said.

“There were people doing Christmas shopping with sleepwear, people picking up swimwear and lots of lingerie, people coming and getting fittings.”

Ms Tuffnell said they also had shoppers purchasing garments for graduations, weddings and formals.

Ms Tuffnell said the giveaways throughout the week were huge, where each time a customer made a purchase they would be entered into the draw.

“With the increased amount of traffic in the store and lots of shoppers we had lots of entries into our ‘lucky daily shopper draws’,” she said.

“We were fortunate to have wonderful support from suppliers which allowed us to do two draws a day.”

Ms Tuffnell said the fitting day with Berlei, Playtex, Jockey representative Julie was also an extremely busy day.

“Julie loves to come down and support us with those days, as do some of our other companies,” she said.

Ms Tuffnell said the staff had a wonderful time and enjoyed celebrating with their customers.

“The girls really enjoyed being busy and having lots of people coming in and out of the store,” she said.

“Seeing our regular customers but also meeting new faces.”
