There will be no farm-gate sales at the Millicent cherry farm for the second consecutive year.
However, as cherries and Christmas go hand-in-hand, there is set to be great demand for the juicy products at Foster’s Foodland in Millicent.
The Rendelsham Road property has developed a fine reputation for quality fruit for more than a decade.
The size, sweetness, freshness and flavour of Millicent cherries are regarded as its selling points and customers are willing to pay a premium for such quality.
The 600 cherry and 60 peach trees on the property were planted by original owners John and Lyn Scudds in 2010 and they are all under protective nets.
They had earlier purchased the property of Millicent entertainer Allan Webster and turned his music room into a sales outlet with fridges.
