Churches gather for global prayer

There will be a focus on the Middle East when it is the rostered turn of the Millicent Anglican Church to host an annual ecumenical event on February 23.

Members of Millicent’s 10 Christian churches will gather at St Michael and All Angels Anglican Church at 10am.

Christians in around 140 services in South Australia will use a program of worship offered this year by the Christian women in Palestine.

The Bible readings and theme are chosen several years in advance.

The World Day of Prayer is one of a number of ventures which is supported by the Millicent Christian Ministers Association.

The World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year, and who, in many countries, have a continuing relationship in prayer and service.

It is a movement initiated and carried out by women in more than 170 countries and regions.
