Coastal camp ban in force

Coastal camp ban in force

The ban on camping on seaside community land will again be strictly enforced at Robe over the festive season.

The Local Government Act by-law bans the erection of a tent or other structure of calico, canvas, plastic or similar material as well as swags in which to camp or sleep overnight.

As in past years, the Robe District Council has issued a warning via its monthly newsletter that offenders face on-the-spot fines.

The camping ban covers Robe’s many beaches as well as parks, reserves and car parks.
