Aleading charity as well as a major sporting club will benefit from the monthly Community Market in the Millicent parklands on Saturday.

Red Cross will stage a pop-up stall which features new ladies clothing.

Regional services manager David Walshaw said Red Cross had been the recipient of a large amount of the donated fashion items last year.

“We had a successful pop-up shop in Mount Gambier last year and there are still plenty of clothes to sell,” Mr Walshaw said.

“Prices start from as little as $1.

“The proceeds from the Millicent Community Market will assist various Red Cross projects.”

Staged by Wattle Range Council, the ‘market host’ for Saturday will be the Millicent Gymnastics Club.

Members will set up the market tables and chairs, run the sausage sizzle, collect stallholder fees and pack up tables and chairs at the end of the market.

Gymnasts will also put on a public display of various routines.

Council is meeting the entertainment and other staging costs and has engaged musician Ethan Hoskin.

Other local clubs and organisations who would like to host a monthly Millicent Community Market are asked to submit a formal expression of interest to council.
