We have got some changes happening here at The SE Voice as we take steps to future proof local news in the Limestone Coast.
For the past three years we have concentrated on publishing first a weekly, then twice-weekly, printed edition of our uber-local paper.
We have gone from strength to strength, working closely to ensure we serve the needs of both our loyal readers and our much appreciated advertisers.
As we have grown, we have continued that conversation with all those involved with the success of The SE Voice.
While sales of our physical edition have remained steady, our online presence has exploded, and along with it a growing demand for an increased digital delivery.
In recent times the local media landscape has become increasingly congested, with eastern states players attempting to saturate the market.
It has fast become evident that readers and advertisers have become confused as to who the actual locals are, given name changes and altered target areas, and who can blame them?
If we in the media are confused then it seems more than logical that readers and advertisers are also confused as to the changes swirling.
Our readers and advertisers are very clear in their requests – they want local news and local advertising delivered in the one place, rather than a ‘scattergun’ approach throughout the region.
And that’s where The SE Voice comes in.
We are pulling all our content together into a one-stop online portal, where news and advertising can be delivered direct to your inbox, free of charge.
That’s right, we will continue to be first and 100% local – but we will also be free to read.
Today marks the last of our physical print runs, as we transition from Thursday to a full online presence.
We will still be publishing two editions of The SE Voice online – Tuesdays and Thursdays – set to be chock a block with all the latest news and advertising from our region.
Our readers want their news at their fingertips, so that’s what we will be doing.
Bringing all the latest information and advertising offers straight to your devices, whether it be a phone, tablet or computer.
And the best bit – given we do not have a physical print deadline, you will receive the news, as it happens, straight from our team of professional, local journalists who are humbled to be part of your daily lives.
It will all be bundled up in an interactive package on our website – sevoice.com.au
Readers will be able to click straight through to our advertisers, connecting directly with local suppliers, stockists and services, rather than wading online trying to find the fit that’s best for them.
It’s a way of amplifying our connections, of creating direct linkages to our community, for all involved.
So please take a leap with us, head online and embrace the new digital world and all that it can offer.
We have got some exciting times ahead.
