Forestry celebration

OneFortyOne released its annual review last week to coincide with International Day of Forests and in celebration of its 10th year of operation.

The publication summarises the company’s operational, environmental and community activities undertaken throughout the year.

Board chairman John Gilleland said 2022 was a dynamic year for OneFortyOne.

“The business successfully navigated numerous divergent forces to deliver for its people, communities, the environment, and shareholders,” he said.

“The work of OneFortyOne employees and partners makes a positive difference.”

Interim chief executive Peter Brydon said the annual review made it clear to OneFortyOne’s communities and networks the progress the company was making with regard to performance, people and sustainability actions.

“OneFortyOne celebrated its 10th birthday in 2022.

“During that time we have worked hard to create value whilst making a positive difference in the lives of employees as well as the communities and environments where we operate,” he said.

“The stories we share today demonstrate who we are and how we want to evolve.

This publication is about recording the history of the company and giving meaning to the work we do.

“It’s an opportunity to remind ourselves that progress is achievement.”

Mr Brydon said the OneFortyOne team had worked hard over the course of the year, demonstrated by the company’s strong financial performance and delivery of capital investment projects.

In addition to strong commercial performance, OneFortyOne had made progress on other important outcomes.

“Targets that drive our continual improvement are critical but the most important thing to our business is that people go Home Safe and Well every day,” he said.

“In 2022 we launched the Grow Wellbeing program to support the health and safety of our people.

“This is just one of our initiatives to reduce critical risks and injuries and support the wellbeing of our people.

“We have focused on women’s equality and equity in the workplace.

Our actions have resulted in greater gender representation.

“Whilst progress is achievement, continuing to increase all aspects of inclusion within the workplace continues to be a priority.

“Another achievement I am hugely proud of is the Emissions Reduction Strategy.

Setting a company target and goal will be instrumental to our future decision making.

“We are a responsible business and take our community and environmental impact seriously.

“We want to play a meaningful role in growing vibrant communities.

“This is why we invest in our long-term partnerships and PINE Community Grants Program.”

Mr Brydon said the purpose of the annual review was to be transparent about all operations.

“Ten years is just the beginning of something bigger.

“We have faced many challenges, but now more than ever we are looking forward to delivering on our purpose which is to grow a better tomorrow,” he said.
