Funds boost Men’s Shed programs

The Federal Government provided an early Christmas present to four Men’s Sheds in Barker by allocating a total of $12,277 to continue to support the health of men through the National Shed Development Program.

Member for Barker Tony Pasin welcomed the decision to award the Naracoorte District Men’s Shed with funding of $5038.

“This funding will enable Naracoorte District Men’s Shed to purchase new computer equipment and provide training to their members, allowing them to stay in touch as well as purchase lifesaving defibrillators,” he said.

Naracoorte District Men’s Shed Chairman Graham Henschke said the Naracoorte District Men’s Shed had recently established a sub-branch of the Men’s Shed, known as the Engine Group.

“This grant will enable us to provide the Engine Group with a defibrillator and other associated safety equipment,” Mr Henschke said.

“We are very grateful for the support of Tony Pasin and the Federal Government.”
