Funeral convoy planned

A rare funeral tribute will be paid this week to late Millicent businessman and community worker Len Teagle.

He passed away at the age of 93 after a short illness on August 8 at Boneham Aged Care Services in Millicent.

On Friday his funeral cortège will leave the Williams Road depot where his family business Teagle Excavations has been headquartered since he founded it in the

1940s.

The hearse will be led to the Millicent Cemetery by a Teagle Excavations truck and it will be immediately followed by another heavy vehicle from the company’s 70-strong fleet of vehicles.

Mr Teagle’s strong support for the Millicent community was well-known and highly regarded.

Among the accolades which came his way was being named the 2008 Australia Day Citizen of the Year for Corcoran Ward of Wattle Range Council.

The exact details of his private funeral are not being published.

Numbers are restricted due to COVID protocols and invited mourners will be obliged to comply with associated requirements.
