Blue skies greeted stall-holders and shoppers at the monthly Community Market in the Millicent parklands last week.
Staged by Wattle Range Council, the ‘market host’ for Saturday was the Millicent Gymnastics Club.
Gymnasts put on a display of various routines near the historic rotunda while their parents and other supporters manned the barbecue and undertook other chores.
Council had support staff on duty, met the entertainment and other staging costs and engaged musician Ethan Hoskin.
Red Cross had a pop-up stall which featured new ladies clothing.
Regional services manager David Walshaw said it was a “superhuman effort” by Red Cross volunteers Liz Sayer, Pam Verdins, Liz Carnellor and Megan Brennan.
“They raised much needed funds for humanitarian projects in the South East Region,” Mr Walshaw said.
“Thank you also to the Wattle Range Council for their support of our initiative and for hosting the markets.”
Other local clubs and organisations who would like to host a monthly Millicent Community Market are asked to submit a formal expression of interest to council.
No host has yet been appointed for the next market on March 26.
