International hits the road

Senior men

Naracoorte United v International

Inter will head to Naracoorte this Sunday to take on Naracoorte United.

Inter will be fresh and ready to play after having a bye last week and will be looking to improve on their performance against Blue Lake on Anzac Day.

Last week United had a tough 1-0 defeat to Apollo and they are still looking to get their first win of the season.

Inter’s Matthew Bueti will have to be at his best again in this game as he has been their main scorer so far this year.

United will be looking to return to their round 1 form where they scored three goals, having not scored in their last two matches.

Inter will need to play consistently in both halves in this game as that was their downfall in their game against Blue Lake.

Apollo v Gambier Centrals

Centrals will take on Apollo at Apollo Football Club this Sunday.

Both teams are coming off solid wins last week and will be keen on picking up the three points this week.

Centrals fought hard last week after being down 2-0 in their game against Blue Lake.

They will need to play like they did in the second half of that match if they want to take points off Apollo this week.

Apollo has had an up and down season so far.

In their last home game they fell to Inter 6-1 so they will not be wanting to let another team come to their pitch and smash them.

Centrals’ Sam Shoemark has been their top scorer so far this season, scoring two goals in both of their games.

Shoemark will need to bring the energy again this week.

Apollo have struggled to score goals this season so if they want to get the win they will have to defend well and keep Centrals to minimal goals.

Senior women

Millicent United v Blue Lake

Blue Lake will head to Millicent to take on Millicent United on Saturday.

Blue Lake are coming off a tough loss to Centrals last week and they will be looking to make up for their mistakes.

Last week Millicent showed some good passages of play in their game against Inter and they will be looking to repeat that this round.

So far this season Millicent have defended really well and they will need to continue to do that as they play a side like Blue Lake who has consistently been scoring goals this year.

Apollo v Gambier Centrals

Gambier Centrals will take on undefeated Apollo on Saturday.

Apollo have been in a league of their own so far this season.

Last week they had a big 10-1 win over Naracoorte United.

Centrals started the season slow but have found good form, winning back to back games.

For Apollo to continue their winning streak they will need to keep playing the way they have been and continue to defend well.

Centrals will need to slow down Apollo’s Deni Atkins and Alix Lescure who have been their main goal scorers so far this season.

Naracoorte United v International

Inter will head to Naracoorte to face Naracoorte United on Sunday.

Inter has not had the best start to the year, having shown flashes of good play in their games but struggling to consistently play good football.

Naracoorte will be looking to make big improvements on their play after their 10-1 defeat to Apollo last week.

Both sides will be looking to pick up a much needed three points as games like these can make a big impact in the back end of the season when teams are pushing for finals spots.
