Liberal Party membership in the MacKillop electorate has dropped by almost 10% in the past year and currently stands at 377.
There are 11 branches with Naracoorte continuing to be the strongest base for the party with 106 members.
Membership numbers for the other branches are Tatiara (31 members), Robe (28), Rendelsham (24), Penola (23), Padthaway (20), Kingston (45), Millicent (25), Meningie (22), Murray Mallee (11) and Lower Murray (42).
The Liberal Party is expected to pre-select a candidate for MacKillop for the 2026 election within 12 months after sitting Liberal Nick McBride quit the party last month to sit as an independent.
Naracoorte resident and state vice-president Lachlan Haynes has reportedly signalled his interest in contesting the pre-selection.
