Mayor joins water conservation board ranks

Naracoorte Lucindale Mayor Patrick Ross has finally been appointed as a member of the Millicent-based South Eastern Water Conservation and Drainage Board.

Mayor Ross has a farming background and was elected to the mayoralty almost 18 months ago.

His nomination to the SEWCDB was endorsed at a meeting of the Limestone Coast Local Government Association in Naracoorte in August of last year.

Former Robe District Council chief executive James Holyman was the previous local government nominee and had served for almost two years before resigning early in 2023.

There are three landholder elected representatives on the Drainage Board along with two other recent ministerial appointments made by Environment Minister and Deputy Premier Dr Susan Close.

They are long-serving SEWCDB board member Pip Rasenberg and newcomer Sally Klose.
