AMillicent youngster’s artwork is gracing the cover of a local federal politician’s Christmas card.
Member for Barker Tony Pasin announced the successful entries for his annual Barker Christmas card competition, with 82,000 to hit letterboxes across the electorate.
Hundreds of entries to Mr Pasin’s annual Christmas Card competition were received from across the electorate with artwork from four students chosen by Mr Pasin to be professionally printed on the card.
Barker primary school students were invited to submit artwork that represented Christmas in their local region.
Newbery Park Primary School student Edie Sunderland’s artwork representing Christmas in the Limestone Coast was chosen as one of four artworks to appear on the card.
Mr Pasin visited the eight-year-old recently to congratulate her and present her with a prize.
“Congratulations to all students who took the time to create artwork and enter the competition,” Mr Pasin said.
“There were hundreds of entries, and it was heartwarming to see the excitement for Christmas and the pride for their region reflected in the children’s work.
“I was so pleased to meet Edie recently and provide her with her prize of a box set of coloured pencils to assist her as she pursues her obvious talents.”
