Millicent Mill keeps production rolling

Management of the KCA Millicent Mill has stated the plant will operate as usual today.

The mill operates around-the-clock and will not be impacted by the nation-wide public holiday for the National Day of Mourning for our sovereign lady Queen Elizabeth.

Those KCA employees working on Thursday will not be paid a penalty rate.

These were abolished around 15 years ago when the unions successfully argued for public holiday penalties to be abolished in the various awards in favour of a type of salary known as an “annualised wage”.

Meanwhile, Millicent’s two regulated shops will be permitted to trade from noon.
