New Carnival rides into town

The epitome of grand automotive comfort and convenience is now on show at Mount Gambier’s OGR Kia dealership, as the latest installment of the Carnival has rolled into town!

This Carnival however does not light up the night with colourful neon lights and over-the-top noise, but instead offers an SUV-inspired design with unstoppable attitude, class-leading luxury and comfort while boasting an exterior like no other people mover on the road.

Not only does it stand out from the crowd with it’s unique boxy and wide front end, it also sports a top-notch interior design with an abundance of room for up to eight occupants to travel in grand style as well as a full suite of technological goodies for good measure.

The SE Voice was recently given the opportunity to pop down to OGR and check out the top of the range Kia Carnival GT-Line and take it for a spin around the region – and wowee have people movers come a long way!

The top of the range GT-Line is equipped with a turbocharged diesel powerplant putting down 148kW of power and 440Nm of torque through an 8-speed automatic transmission, while a combined fuel consumption comes in at 6.5L/100km from the Carnival’s 72-litre tank, providing exceptional range for those long family journeys.

Despite being a ‘larger’ vehicle, the way the Kia Carnival drives and handles is to be commended.

At no point during the time spent behind the wheel did the Carnival feel intimidating to steer, with it effortlessly gliding across the road surface and zipping in and out of busy supermarket car parks without a care in the world.

There is so much that can be said about the 2024 Kia Carnival GT-Line interior – and it is all positive! We’re talking about a stunning 12.3” driver cluster and accompanying 12.3” infotainment display with Bose audio equipment and friendly user-interface that allows you top pinch, zoom, swipe and customise to suit your needs just like your smartphone; a heads up display to keep your eyes firmly on the road ahead; interior mood lighting to suit your personal style as well as heated and ventilated seating with memory functionality and multi-zone climate control.

On top of this, the spacious seating has plenty of room for even the tallest of occupants meaning every Carnival ride is a pleasant experience, and folding the centre and rear row seating can be completed with one hand to maximise rear cargo space if need be.

While touching on this – even with the rear seats in their upright position the sheer size of the rear cargo area is unbelievable!

Pair this with USB-C charging in the front seats for middle row passengers and dual outlets for rear passengers and you have not only got yourself the ultimate family mover, but a very impressive vehicle to load your mates up and head off to Melbourne, Adelaide or wherever you want to go in optimal style and comfort.

And did we mention the dual sunroofs and hands-free and one-touch smart power sliding doors and tail gate?!

As is the case with all Kia vehicles in the manufacturer’s fleet, the Carnival GT-Line is equipped with an abundance of safety tech including autonomous emergency braking with junction assist, rear-cross traffic alerts with safe exit warning and assist, blindspot view monitoring and collision avoidance assist, lane keep and follow assists, front, side and reverse parking sensors, intelligent speed sign recognition and a full 360-degree camera system.

You’ll never have to worry about having the most up to date software and maps either, with Kia Connect and Over The Air updates conveniently being completed directly to your vehicle.

Now I know what you’re thinking, all of these premium features and included technology will come at a premium price – but this is another area where the Kia Carnival GT-Line shines, with the top of the range people mover starting at $77,390 driveaway, with pearl and metallic paint finishes available for an additional $695.

The Kia Carnival is already proving popular with Limestone Coast motorists, so it’s best to pop down and see the team at OGR Kia at 132-138 Jubilee Highway West or contact 8724 1111 to lock one in for yourself today!
