Nursing manager
fills health vacancy

Senior nurse Cosi Greco has been elected as the staff representative on the Millicent Health Advisory Council.

He has been the nurse unit manager at the Sheoak Lodge aged care facility for several years.

Mr Greco has been responsible for the day to day running of the 60-bed facility attached to Millicent Hospital.

He succeeds fellow Millicent registered nurse Alice Brennan who had relinquished the important role late last year after 15 years of voluntary service.

She provides a range of roles across the Millicent and District Hospital site as a theatre recovery nurse, domiciliary midwife and infection prevention and control nurse.

Ms Brennan had also represented the facility’s 140 employees on the Millicent Health Advisory Council since 2008.

The other Millicent HAC members are community representatives and Councillor Richard Cassidy of Wattle Range Council.

The local fraternity and MacKillop MP Nick McBride have yet to exercise their legislated right to nominate representatives to the HAC.

Mr Greco recently attended his first Millicent HAC meeting when the fifth postponement of the scheduled open day and inadequacy of visitor and staff car parking were discussed.
