A ‘Stay Safe Online’ free community forum will be held in Mount Gambier on Monday evening.
Member for Barker Tony Pasin will host the Australian eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant.
The forum will be at 6pm at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre and is designed to cover what you need to know to keep you and your families safe online.
Ms Inman Grant will also provide information about how the eSafety Commissioner can support parents and carers when things go wrong online, including cyberbullying and image base abuse, as well as providing parenting strategies to help manage technology.
The Office of the eSafety Commissioner is the first government agency dedicated to keeping people safer online and started operations in 2015.
The eSafety Commissioner is a fast-growing team, including educators, investigators, lawyers, policy and technology experts, digital specialists and other professionals who share one goal – a safer and more positive online experience for all Australians.
Ms Inman Grant has extensive experience in the technology industry, having held senior public policy and safety roles with Microsoft, Twitter and Adobe.
Mr Pasin said Ms Inman Grant played an important global role as Chair of the Child Dignity Alliance’s Technical Working Group and as a Board Member of the WePROTECT Global Alliance.
