Party talks

Rank and file members of the Liberal Party will have the opportunity to have face to face meetings with parliamentarians on May 8.

The Liberal Party constitution requires local branches to hold their annual general meetings before June 30 each year.

The Mount Gambier branch will hold its yearly forum at a local hotel.

The party has held the state seat of Mount Gambier for only 18 months since the retirement of long-serving MP Harold Allison in 1997.

For much of the past 27 years, the seat has been held by Independents and former Liberal Party members Rory McEwen, Don Pegler and current MP Troy Bell.
