Penola Eagles managed to play their way to a big win against the Padthaway Lions in round three of the Kowree Tatiara Naracoorte (KNT) netball season.
While it was a slow start, Penola’s attack found some great rhythm with fast transitions and impressive accuracy from goalies Tegan Lythgo and Gorgia Robbie.
By the end of the first quarter the Eagles had secured an 11-goal lead.
Putting the foot down in the second Penola defence applied some great pressure allowing Riley Buckingham and Maddy Teakle to get their hands to some balls in the circle.
Hannah Klemm and Siobhan Adams also did some damage defensively, each getting turnovers through the midcourt.
Into the second half Padthaway made some changes which saw them make some ground while Penola made a few reckless errors.
The final quarter Penola were able to clean up their game with Ashley Merrett and Siobhan Adams feeding well into their goal circle and the Eagles defence getting plenty of hands to ball.
While the Lions never gave up, the Eagles were able to walk away with a 34 goal win.
Final score was Penola 77 defeated Padthaway 43.
Best players for Penola were Kaitlyn Ward and Hannah Grady.
