Penola tourist drive

The Penola Coonawarra Caravan Park is under new ownership and is undergoing changes to help drive tourists into the town.

New owner Nathan Seal took over the ownership role from the past owners who had the park for more than a decade and he is determined to make the park a drawcard for Penola.

“I am very excited to be a part of this community because it is a great little town,” Mr Seal said.

“In the past I have spent a lot of time here visiting the town and local wineries.

“The caravan park has got so much potential and I think the town is crying out for a park that can support and help local businesses grow.”

Mr Seal said the Penola Coonawarra Caravan Park had lots of potential and he was excited to see what the future held for the park.

The park has recently undergone various upgrades including renovating the cabins and Mr Seal said they had started to upgrade the powered ensuite sites.

Three major facilities Mr Seal would like to establish at the park over the next 12 months will make a massive difference, with upgrades including a camp kitchen and cooking facilities to cater for caravanners, campers and various groups and a dump point.

“Catering for these travellers generates a massive opportunity within the industry to help bring more travelling tourists off the road to spend more time and money supporting the local businesses and surrounding wineries,” he said.

“It is a great opportunity, I am working closely with the council, the Riddoch Business and Community Association and the local Tourism Centre.

“We have cabins, ensuites, powered and unpowered sites, we cater for backpackers, workers, accommodation, so we have a bit of everything for travellers coming to visit or work in Penola.”

The park is now linked up with G’Day Parks and Travelling Australia With Kids (TAWK) which both offer special perks and discounts for members and it is now featured on online booking sites.

“Come and check us out, come and support the town and spread the word that things are happening,” Mr Seal said.
