Homicide Squad detectives have charged a Portland man following the death of a man in Portland on Thursday.


Police were called to an address on Park Street after a man, who is yet to be formally identified, was located deceased about 7.30pm.


Police arrested a 45-year-old man at the Park Street address.


The Portland man has been charged with one count of murder.


He was remanded in custody to appear at Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court.
