Prominent station sold

Aprominent family farming company has recently purchased Keilira Station, east of Kingston.

It came onto the market for the first time in almost 70 years late last year and the new owner is A.J. and P.A. McBride Pty. Ltd.

All shares in the company are held by members of the McBride family and the board of directors is chaired by member for MacKillop Nick McBride.

Keilira Station is located between McBride’s Ashmore Station and Nepowie Station and offers 3345 hectares (8300 acres) of prime agricultural land.

“We regard it as a perfect addition, as we continue our family’s journey as premier woolgrowers and take a step forward in reaching our annual production goal of 10,000 bales of wool,” said a family spokesperson.

“In addition to wool, the property will continue with its prime lamb and beef cattle enterprises.

“We would like to extend a very warm welcome to Jason Holloway, manager and station hand, Lauchie Jackman-Tilley as they join the A.J. & P.A.McBride family.”

According to the selling agents, the sale provided astute buyers a rare opportunity to acquire a renowned commercial sheep and cattle property with cropping potential in a premium, reliable rainfall location.

The improvements included a seven-stand shearing shed, multiple sheep and cattle yards, three residences and shearers quarters.
