Rain fails to dampen fun

Fifty-six women took to the Millicent Golf course on a drizzly Friday morning to compete in the annual Millicent Open Day Ladies Pinehurst competition.


Despite the wet weather lots of fun was had with some great scores turned in.


Gross winners were Janina Morrison and Kerry Pedlar with 86 off the stick followed by Robyn Walters and Virginia DeDonatis, runners up with 88 off the stick.


Rachel Smith and Nicole Hocking were the nett winners with 76.25, narrowly edging out Helen Chilton and Kathy Webber who were runners up with a nett 77.25.


Trick shots went to Helen Gregory who was nearest the pin on the third and Sally Duke with her work on the 13th, Julie Moran with her Long Drive on the 9th, Bronny Clarke and Lana Barlow for second shot nearest the pin on the 16th, Sue Kilsby and Pat Boyd for second shot on the 17th, Jill Steen and Penny Trueman for Combined Long Drive on the 7th and Lyn Watson and Alex Lambert for Combined Long Drive on the 14th.


Morrison and Pedlar added their names to the prestigious Arch Sunderland Memorial Trophy with a nett 74.
