The usual frequency of Millicent court hearings has been re-instated.
The Courts Administration Authority has stated the Millicent Magistrates Court will now convene each month for the first half of 2022.
The George Street building will now be used on January 19 and monthly thereafter.
In past years, there would be 11 or 12 such hearings in Millicent.
A review last year had recommended a drastic reduction in the frequency of Millicent and Bordertown court hearings.
Millicent was due to only have six court dates for all of 2021 and just four hearings at Bordertown while the frequency of Naracoorte courts was scheduled to increase.
This schedule prompted an uproar in Millicent business, civic and legal circles and the number of sittings in 2021 was increased to eight.
All sittings at the Millicent, Naracoorte and Bordertown courthouses were suspended for several months in 2020 as the COVID protocols with respect to social distancing could not be achieved.
Meanwhile, there will be five court days at Bordertown between January and June of next year.
There will be nine hearings at Naracoorte during this period.
Newly-appointed resident magistrate Koula Kossiavelos will also regularly preside over criminal and civil matters at the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court.
