Reserve access granted

Mount Gambier City Council has decided to grant a licence for a local school to use nearby reserve land whilst undertaking building
projects.

Council received a request from Saint Martins Lutheran College to use Saint Martins Drive Reserve during school hours.

This will occur for the remainder of the current school year through to the end of 2025 while building works are undertaken on the school site.

The licence also grants permission for the school to utilise the Reserve during other specified days and times upon request.

Mayor Lynette Martin said council made the decision after considering submissions received in response to public consultation about the proposal conducted earlier this year.

“Most respondents were supportive of the college using the reserve,” Mayor Martin said.

All elected members were in attendance at the March monthly meeting and unanimously voted in for the recommendation.
