Running festival sprints to region

The Coonawarra Running Festival is scheduled to return later this year.

The event, to be held on November 8, will feature various distances of 21km, 14km, 6km and 1km.

Participants can run, walk, jog or hop along the rail trail, which passes by grazing land, vineyards, and Coonawarra’s blue tree.

There will also be a toddlers’ race at Coonawarra Park and other events throughout the day.

The Wobbly Winery Walk will take place, offering participants the opportunity to wobble, walk, run or enjoyably navigate a 6km route with stops for wine tasting at six different wineries.

A prize will be awarded to the best-dressed participant, and in 2023 the event was honoured to have “Hugh Hefner” and his ladies join.

Organisers are encouraging people to consider the event as a Christmas party celebration or to gather a group for an enjoyable day out.

All events will take place in and around Coonawarra Park, offering family-friendly entertainment, music, food and markets.
